"Keep it simple stupid." This cute and clever axiom has merit in many aspects of our daily lives.
For IT administrators, perhaps one of the best places to apply this principal is in disaster
recovery. Sure your disaster recovery plan may look good on paper, but is it practical? Will it
work when you need it to? We've come up with what we think is the best solution to ensure your
disaster recovery plan stays as simple and as manageable as possible. There are three main
components to this plan: VMware's virtualization, PlateSpin's data migration capabilities, and
Compellent's Storage Center.
We utilize leaders in the technology industry for our data migration services. We'll start by using
VMware to virtualize your data. This will allow us to move whole
servers of data with ease. And with VMware, you can achieve hardware independence as these virtual
servers can reside on nearly any machine. You can even store multiple servers on one physical box.
Then we'll use Novell's PlateSpin which auto-detects physical
and virtualized systems on the network and allows you to move data with drag and drop simplicity.
It will configure the data to work in its new physical environment by updating drivers, kernels, and
configurations. Compellent allows you to store all your data
in one easy to manage Storage Center. When it comes time to recover your data, booting your servers from
a SAN will assure you are up in running in no time. You may even want to have a SAN at your location,
and then mirror your data to a remote SAN. You can utilize a Compellent SAN at Sitco, or even backup
to our SAN here at Pinnacle.
We're here to test and evaluate your disaster recovery plan. And if it's not up to your standards,
we'll help you architect a new plan. Once we've decided on the best course of action for your business,
we'll get busy putting that plan in to place. Being chosen as Sitco's Preferred Agent Integration Partner
Program helps to confirm our belief that we are Evansville's experts in disaster recovery. Whether you
choose to house your data at a top of the line facility like Sitco, or in the guest room at your house,
we will help you figure out the best solution to keep your data safe.
